Read on to find out about some of events planned across the country’s call centres………
Mondial Assistance
It’s that time of year again as the UK goes Comic-Relief-crazy on Red Nose Day in a bid to raise millions for good causes.

Croydon-based company Mondial Assistance is no exception. Over 100 employees at Mondial will be getting in the party mood when the company handles telephone donations at its call centre.
Last year volunteer employees took over £70,000 in pledges throughout the evening, and the company is pulling out all the stops to raise even more in 2009.
To keep spirits high, staff will be entertained by a magician, chilled out by Clarins massages and energised by Virgin Active staff. Volunteers will also get to enjoy goody bags packed with gifts from House of Fraser, Costco, Jury’s Inn and Rush Health & Beauty amongst others, not to mention food donated by Pret-a-Manger. All this should guarantee a successful night raising funds to change lives in the UK and around the world.
DHL Express
Volunteers from the DHL Express call centre in the East Midlands are donating their services on the evening to help staff the official donation line for Red Nose Day ‘09!The 200-strong team of DHL call centre staff volunteers, supported by DHL pilots and couriers, will be taking calls throughout the live TV extravaganza on BBC One which will be hosted by some of the biggest names in TV, including Davina McCall and David Tennant.
The DHL Express Call Centre in the East Midlands was selected by the charity for its high service standards and extensive experience as it manages over 6.1 million calls a year, making it well equipped to man the phone lines from 7pm until 2am on the evening of March 13.
As well as managing much needed calls on the night, DHL staff will be showing their support for Red Nose Day by Wearing Something Funny for Money, as they are sponsored to wear ridiculous outfits and accessories for cash.
Sanjay Jalporte, a DHL Express Customer Services Advisor, has, however, decided to go one step further by shaving off his 68 dreadlocks that have taken him several years to grow. He is confident that the loss of his signature hair will help raise crucial funds for Comic relief.
“It is a bit daunting thinking about shaving off all of my hair but Comic Relief is a very worthy charity and I am happy to do my bit to help,” Sanjay said.
Over £67 million was raised for Red Nose Day ‘08, and this year DHL Express hopes to help Comic Relief go even bigger when Red Nose Day hits screens across the country on March 13.
Alan Cassels, Managing Director DHL International Express said:
“I’m really pleased that our exceptional team at East Midlands will be a part of Red Nose Day on March 13 and will be contributing to a very worthy cause.”
Misco
Volunteers from Misco based in Northants are donating their services on the evening to help staff the official donation line for Red Nose Day ’09!

The 120-strong team will be taking calls throughout the live TV extravaganza on BBC One.‘We are delighted to once again be involved in this event. In July 2004, Misco acted as a call centre for Sport Relief taking in a staggering £172,000 in donations, the second largest amount of donations out of the 54 call centres that participated throughout the country,’ commented Sandy Price, UK General Manager.
On the support from call centres, Jan Brown, Comic Relief’s Campaign Logistics Officer, said: ‘Misco is one of a team of call centres helping us to manage these all-important calls, and we’d like to say a massive thank-you to all the staff that have given up their Friday night to be a part of it. Thanks to our brilliant volunteers and BT, Red Nose Day call centres will form a virtual network of a staggering 12,000 lines, which will really help us raise our total and change lives. “
The seven-hour TV bonanza will be on Red Nose Day, March 13, BBC One, from 7pm.
