AXA supports BBC Children in Need 2008

For BBC Children in Need 2008 AXA employees in Bristol, Coventry and Tunbridge Wells have helped to raise £17,000 through a series of fundraising events.
AXA employees in Bristol did their bit for BBC Children in Need by taking part in AXA’s Got Talent. Ticket sales for AXA’s Got Talent heats were sold out as audiences cheered on their colleagues performing in front of a panel of three judges, Paul Mcmahon, Donna Trapnell and Robin Smith.
AXA employees filled the balconies and main walkway of the AXA office in Bristol to show support and watch the best acts compete to be the winner of AXA’s Got Talent. The judges were torn between two solo artists and made the decision to award joint first place to Roz Worlock who sang Duffy’s ‘Warwick Avenue and Stephanie Robertson who sang Shania Twain’s ‘I’m gonna getcha good.’
Toddlers from AXA’s onsite nursery, Acorns, were sponsored to walk down the main aisle in the AXA offices accompanied by Pudsey. Employees of AXA raised money through being sponsored to come into work in fancy dress, whilst the online auction containing over 150 lots, raised over £6000.
In AXA’s Coventry offices, employees took part in a Pudsey tricky treasure hunt. Five teams of AXA employees scoured Coventry city centre in a bid to find bizarre bits of treasure. The teams weren’t allowed to use any money and had rely on their powers of persuasion to collect wacky bits of treasure which included a dog’s lead, a cardboard cut out of Angelina Jolie and a fish.
In the spirit of BBC Children in Need the AXA offices in Coventry also organised a children’s party at Cornerstones Family Centre in Hillfields. Children aged between five and eleven years old enjoyed a traditional party including a magician, party food and party games organised by seven AXA volunteers.
In AXA PPP employees supported the charity throughout the day with cake bakes, book sales and a specially dedicated intranet forum where employees could sell items with proceeds going to BBC Children in Need. This is the first time that AXA PPP healthcare has donated a call centre to BBC Children in Need for a pledge line and the evening was a huge success.
