CCMA Award Winners

At the Annual Awards dinner held by the Call Centre Management Association the top award went to Iain Banks who heads up the Samsung account at Sykes Global in Edinburgh.

This glittering occasion, now in its fourteenth year, was attended by over 350 guests and included the great and the good of the European contact centre industry.

Sponsored by CCT, the event was held in Manchester last week and saw a record number of top-class nominations including some excellent entries from fellow outsource companies Accenture, Vertex and Ventura and other leading organisations like O2, MBNA, Job Centre Plus and Manchester United FC.

Runners-up for this title were Nick Dunn from insurance intermediary Heath Lambert and Andrew Halstead from outsourcer Ventura.

Commenting on the awards, CCMA Chair Ann-Marie Stagg says: “Our panel of judges personally visited sixteen outstanding individuals who are all making a fantastic contribution to their business. More and more often we can clearly see that excellent call centre managers are receiving the high levels of recognition and reward that first-class organisations are now prepared to give them – it’s great to see so many good news stories from our industry and so much enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service.”

Unusually lost for words, Iain Banks could only say: “Fantastic! Thank you CCMA!”

The winners were short-listed from a total over 100 applications and judging included tours, interviews and an understanding of policies and legislation, planning and technology.
