CPP employees given a treat

CPP employees treated to a manicure

In a week of activities designed to beat credit crunch gloom and boost health awareness, employees at CPP’s contact centres at York, Tamworth and Chesterfield were treated to manicures and massages provided by local further educational colleges’ beauty care students. They also enjoyed free health checks and information on healthy living, free fresh fruit, tea and snacks all served by top management.

A selection of homemade cakes went on sale to finish off the week-long event, with employees also bringing along their unwanted toiletries, soaps and perfumes, for donation to local Women and Children’s refuges.

Inji Duducu, Director of HR and one of the event’s organisers, said: “The inspiration came from our managing director and CEO who wanted to do something to counteract all the negative news in the media about the recession. The idea snowballed into a week of events at our three UK sites with each day themed along a different way to feel good. We expected it to be popular with our contact centre staff – and it was – but also expected some cynicism among support functions. We were delighted that the week was appreciated across the spectrum. Feedback was so positive that we are thinking of repeating it in future.

“To anyone thinking of organising a similar initiative, I would say don’t be put off by those who may think it’s not a good idea – even our leadership team, some of whom had to be strong-armed into getting involved, enjoyed it”.

Very good idea. Am sure all staffs who took part did feel good about themselves.

Am offering another treat idea which is fun, mouth watering and educational too

I am conducting ‘corporate team building’ workshops
i.e learning to work as a team while cooking an Indian curry, or ‘hands on’ cooking parties for Christmas celebrations (again popular Indian curries)

Am holding a free demonstration on Sat 26th September at ‘Friends meeting house, Friar gate -Fell room between 12 -1ish.
