Firstsource Solutions hosts Family Open Day

Firstsource Solutions hosted a family open day at its contact centres in Belfast and Londonderry on Friday 1st August 2008.The family day also celebrated Firstsource’s second anniversary in Northern Ireland, marking the date when its first UK contact centre in Belfast opened its doors for the first time.
Employees were encouraged to bring family members to work, to show them the work environment at Firstsource. Visitors were shown around the call floor to see how Firstsource’s Customer Service Advisors do their daily work, communicating with customers. They also learned about the breadth of the company’s services worldwide and the scope of career opportunities within the company.
As well as children of Firstsource staff, the guests also included parents, in-laws and god-children. Children’s entertainment in the form of face painting and balloon modelling, and the clown’s antics kept everyone amused. Entertainment included story telling, colouring competitions and games such as pass the parcel. The young guests also learnt new skills such as limbo dancing and plate spinning – all very useful skills for a future career in a contact centre!
Sean Canning, Firstsource UK Operations Director, explained the company’s decision to open its doors to the wider Firstsource family: “We all enjoyed hosting this family open day as a way of celebrating our second birthday in Northern Ireland. The open day gave us all an opportunity to show what we actually do in our working lives. Firstsource is very keen to encourage our staff to maintain a work-life balance and we hope that this event helped to demonstrate our family-friendly approach.”
