i want to set up inhouse small call centre for marketing work, maybe with around 5 or 7 staff for both inbound and outbond calls. having 8 hr, 1 shift only. what all hardwares and softwares i require and amount of investments required, can anyone help..

It really depends on what kind of a solution you need:
a) In house
b) Hosted
In house would incur an upfront cost, which might be significant and would also increase the cost of ownership. I recommend you go the hosted way, to start with and then later on maybe you can think of an in premise solution.
For hosted all you would need is:
1. A PC, any modern day PC or laptop should be good enough.
2. About 50Kbps bandwidth per pc would give you good voice quality.
3. Headsets, USB or PIN.
Per seat cost would work out to about $60 to $90 excluding minutes.

Find someone who has done it before and contract him or her to set up a centre for you. It may cost a bit of money up front, but it will save you money further down the line. There is no substitute for wisdom and experience in these situations.

If this is a pilot scheme then I would suggest a hosted solution as you can switch it off after a period of time without having to keep any hardware that requirment investment
However if this is a full time call centre that that is going to around for years then there is a business case to purchase capital equipment

You can start call center with 5 to 25 persons. don't invest money in installation of hardware and software because its highly risky to invest big money at starting.
first make a contract with your client and start with low investment.
1-Purchase android based phones each for one person in your staff.
2-Purchase "My sales Dialer" an android based dialer (faster than other dialers and only for $9.99 one time payment) for each mobile.
3-Create account on Marketing data providing website and download data according to your target.
Now you are ready to start call center.
