Role Purpose
To manage a team responsible for the collection of arrears on credit card products in order to maximise money recovery and minimise losses. Deliver superior customer service whilst reducing the bad debt asset.
Skills:
•Utilise knowledge and experience to make decisions considering cost and risk to the company and the client
•Influence Senior/Executive Managers regarding necessary changes to policy and procedures to protect the company and the client against any increases in the bad debt portfolio
•Legislation, Regulations and codes of practice are monitored, interpreted and implemented correctly and within timescales.
•Managing People - Putting Customers First
•Adopt a proactive management style, to enable team to achieve planned performance.
•Evidence of quality appraisal documentation and process.
•Work with team to create achievable development and progression plans
•Effectively carry out HR procedures e.g. recruitment, appraisal, absence management and disciplinary
Responsibilities:
•To recruit lead and develop a team of customer assistance specialists to ensure that people are both skilled and motivated to deliver performance that maximises recoveries and minimise losses.
•To implement appropriate collections strategies ensuring roll rates are minimised.
•Challenge and proactively develop collection strategies to increase money recovery through each stage of the collections strategy.
•To contribute to the effective reduction of the bad debt asset, including cost control, through effective resource and business management, workflow evaluation, effective collection strategies, compliance and client standards. .
•To contain the day to day commercial risks across team activity by assessing risk issues and the impact for client and customers
