Job Title: Business Unit Manager Division: Contact Centre
Reports to (title): Business Unit Director
Purpose of Job
Working with the Business Unit Director, the Business Unit Manager will contribute to the development and vision of the Business Unit Strategy in line with my client’s over arching strategic objectives and existing and future Client requirements encompassing the following: -
To lead, develop and motivate your client service, operational and contact centre teams to successfully deliver the agreed turnover and profit targets for your client(s) within the business.
To seek growth opportunities to increase sales through development of existing and new clients and to broaden the range of services delivered to each client.
Day to day management of the Business Unit, to both encompass the values of my client, ensuring alignment to the overall culture, policies and procedures and to derive the maximum profit through lean and efficient systems and process.
Dimensions
Direct reports – Up to 6 Client Service Managers, Operations Manager and Contact Centre Manager.
Up to 10 contract clients with a budget responsibility of up to c £6 million and tactical clients as required.
Knowledge, experience and relevant qualifications for this job
Educated to “A” level, degree level preferable.
Sound commercial experience gained primarily in contact centres, marketing services, and/or sales environment.
Relationship development of Blue Chip clients.
Management of operational and client servicing teams.
A self-motivator, with a determination to grow the role, the business unit and their abilities.
The ability to contribute to the establishment and communication of a compelling, customer focused strategic vision for the business unit and cross-functional teams.
Sound level of commercial and financial awareness, financial levers and profitability.
Highest level of personal presentation, including advanced presentation skills and experience of commercial negotiations.
Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills.
Sound understanding of clients’ businesses and marketing tools.
Principal Accountabilities
Ability to make sound recommendations regarding the shape and structure of the team in order to motivate and develop the team to live my client’s mission and values. Training, coaching and developing all direct reports to deliver results and exceed client expectations. To lead and build a team to ensure that the existing business is maintained and developed.
To contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans to grow sales and profit within the Business Unit. To provide 1st line senior client management, seeing clients at regular intervals, holding regular review meetings and, working with the Client Service Director and Client Service Managers, annual and quarterly strategic review meetings that demonstrate understanding of client needs and critically review the services provided. To develop additional opportunities to those clients across other parts of the business.
To manage budgets and resources in line with the department financial plan. On-going delivery to the ROB process ensuring efficiencies and maximum profitability are delivered.
To ensure that practices and procedures within the Division are efficient and meet client needs.
To address effectively operational needs or issues arising with clients.
To contribute to the development of the client service & operational functions for the business.
Identification and contribution to the development and creation of new products and systems to meet existing and future client needs.
Special Features
The Business Unit Manager is required from time to time to deputise for the client service director at senior business or social occasions.
The Business Unit Manager role can multi-locational. Time will be split between my clients offices in the North West and South East and will also include client offices.
The Business Unit Manager role will require a flexible attitude to working hours including some evenings and weekends
