The role will be responsible to:
Lead, motivate and manage a team of Secured Loan Underwriter whilst maintaining customer experience and minimising risk to the business
Produce and Interpret MI to monitor effectiveness of the team and individuals
Proactively build relationships with other business areas and other third parties / brokers
Communicate business objectives to the team and convert to team/individual objectives
Identify training and development needs and co-ordinate necessary training
Assist team members with development needs/career discussions
Provide constructive feedback via regular 121’s
Utilise performance management in line with company policy
Act as a referral point for complex underwriting cases
Input to ongoing process improvement
Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
• General management, leadership and team-building ability
• Customer relationship management
• Strategic thinking and external perspectives
• Effective communication, presentation skills
• Strong time management and personal organisation
• Written communication, editing & proofing
• Numerate and able to analyse/interpret financial
Candidates will require Operational management experience, preferably from a lending environment, although this is not essential.
