Company / Role Overview:
In this pivotal role, you’ll develop, manage and deliver the provision of planning and forecasting services. Delivering on objectives within the Planning and MI function. You will be consulting with operational managers influencing a schedule function including service delivery. This role is incredibly diverse and my client is looking for someone with the same strategy and vision.
Key Responsibilities:
•Using available MI, headcount plans, development criteria, shrinkage criteria, etc, to develop a robust long term and medium term planning methodology that delivers a set of input criteria for a Workforce Management (WFM) application.
•Building strong working relationships with relevant departments and external professional forums to develop, maintain planning systems and processes
•Maintain best practices, latest thinking and of the highest quality service delivery
•Consulting with Operational Managers to design and deliver a planning and scheduling function
•Influencing the strategic development of operational delivery, in relation to planning, scheduling, workforce management, service standards and business process improvements
•Developing and maintaining a register of development criteria (increases / decreases in business volume; variations to business process; variations in service targets) and shrinkage criteria (allowances for FTE working hours, holiday, absence, training, coaching, etc.) to enable the long and medium term planning process
•Using available MI and WFM data to develop a robust planning and forecasting methodology that delivers a fully factored intra day performance forecast for population with staff details by operational scheduling staff
•Using an analytical process that accurately identifies business process improvement initiatives
•Providing credible information to the UK Planning Manager and Department Head , enabling them to demonstrate the added value services from the UK Planning & MI Team
•Taking responsibility and accountability for “account management” of allocated business areas, business processes and Business Managers
•Developing feedback, such as regular internal customer reviews and surveys, that provide insight to the effectiveness of UK Planning & MI service
Key Skills / Experience required:
•A clear understanding/experience in Short, Medium and Long Term Planning
•Broad understanding of Operational Service Delivery
•Experience of managing an industry standard WFM application
•Strong analytical skills & proven project management skills
•Strong PC, data management/retrieval skills
•Good commercial awareness
•Evidence of continuous professional development including, planning methodologies, process improvement, etc.
•Experience of contributing to cross-functional business teams is desirable
