I absolutely refuse to believe that cold calling is an effective means of securing a sale. And if the "Too stupid to own a computer" incident really happened, I have the utmost sympathy with the technician too. I'm not sure whether it did happen or not, as I have been unable to find a recording but it wouldn't surprise me if it had happened. A friend who's a technician once got called out to someone who was having trouble setting up a computer. Imagine the look on my friend's face when he saw that they were trying to connect the tower to the TV.
