New Contact Centre Recruitment Consultancy Launched
Contact Centre Partners Limited has been launched to provide staffing solutions within the contact centre industry.
Founded by Mark Conway and Deren Zaghlul, life-long friends and former work colleagues, Contact Centre Partners (CCP) have six core business divisions – Advisors, Management, Resource Planning & MI, Executive Search, Interim & Consultancy and Business Development.
Conway said: “After many years working within the call centre industry, we decided to set up a boutique, people-focused, quality-driven and industry-specific recruitment business. Recruitment can become a numbers game, and having worked within different industries previously, I immediately fell in love with the people within the contact centre industry.”
Zaghlul added: “We appreciate it’s a challenging climate and there are some people struggling financially. We take a great sense of moral satisfaction in supporting those in such situations and aim to assist them in finding new work. Any one person with call centre experience is of great value to our priceless network.”
Mark Quartermaine appointed CEO of Azzurri Communications

Mark joins Azzurri from BT where he was UK President of BT Global Services.
Jim McKenna, Chairman, Azzurri Communications, said: “We are very pleased that Mark is joining us to lead the next phase of Azzurri’s strategic plan for growth. He brings a wealth of experience in our sector including BT, Cable & Wireless, NSB Group and IBM. Mark Quartermaine said: “I am looking forward to joining Azzurri, which has an exciting customer proposition and is well positioned to exploit the next wave of technology.” Mark Quartermaine will join Azzurri on September 6th 2010.
VocaLink appoints Nick Daniel as Sales Director

The appointment will help support VocaLink’s commercial growth ambitions in the UK and internationally.
In his new role as Sales Director for Transactions Services, Nick will be responsible for identifying new growth opportunities for the division in the UK and internationally, as well as supporting the development of existing schemes.
Commenting on his own role, Nick Daniel said, “With the planned expansion of the Faster Payments Service in the UK and the industry challenges of cheque replacement and mobile payments, I’m joining VocaLink at an exciting time for both the business and the wider industry as a whole. I’m looking forward to working with financial institutions across the world to provide solutions to help tackle these market challenges and opportunities.”
Datapoint recruits 40 new staff

Datapoint has recruited 19 new staff since January this year, and plans to recruit more than 20 new staff over the next four months.
In September 2009, Datapoint appointed Jim Kent, the former chief executive of Vistorm and vice-president, Services for Hewlett Packard (HP) in the UK and Ireland as CEO. He has built on Datapoint’s core strengths as a pan-European systems integrator of enterprise communication systems and call centre technologies by strengthening the management team, refreshing skills, and attracting new vendors.
In July, Meurig Jones joined as chief operating officer. Meurig has responsibility for Datapoint’s new ‘go-to-market’ strategy.
In January, Paul Brewer joined from BT as director of technology solutions. Paul is tasked with driving relationships between vendor partners and Datapoint as well as executing the company’s ‘industry solutions’ strategy from a vendor and campaign perspective.
Merced Systems opens New EMEA Headquarters to Accommodate Growth

Merced Systems has moved its EMEA headquarters to meet the needs of its growing team and customer base.
Having outgrown its current location, Merced’s EMEA headquarters is relocating to new offices at Arlington Square in Bracknell, UK. The EMEA headquarters is also home to a significant proportion of the company’s overall software development.
“Merced has seen significant growth in revenues, customers and our team,” commented Brenda Morris, VP EMEA of Merced Systems. “Demand from our strong EMEA client base including O2, Cable & Wireless, BT and The Co-operative Financial Services has resulted in consistent year-on-year financial growth. The move to larger premises will accommodate future expansion and provide space for state-of-the-art training facilities for our customers and employees.”
30 Years of Service

William and the Directors
William Catchpole, Managing Director of IPPlus PLC, celebrated this month after reaching the impressive milestone of 30 years’ continuous service.
Geoff Forsyth, IPPlus Technical Director, who has worked alongside William for 14 years, commented: “William is one of the most driven and dependable people I have ever come across. Whether it is motivating staff, keeping clients satisfied or securing key strategic deals; he is unwavering in his determination and dedication to the business. I look forward to working alongside him for many more years to come.”
