Teleresources consultancy announces talent investment
Staffing specialist pledges commitment to aid call centre market
Talent management may be top of the agenda for employers; however, to create a sustainable workforce for a growing sector, specialist recruitment firm Teleresources Consultancy is calling for greater emphasis on talent acquisition”!
In a pioneering move, the recruiter has joined forces with progressive training company, Complete Performance, to launch a unique programme – promising to up-skill the industry and widen the pool of suitable candidates on offer to support growth within the sector.
With industry projections set to see employers across the UK seeking in excess of 57,000 new placements in the coming 12 months*, the ‘New Start’ programme -consisting of competency-based assessment and a BTEC Career Path One certificate – has been devised to provide a platform for inexperienced candidates who otherwise hold transferable skills, thus placing them well for employment in a contact centre environment.
“Performance underlines the growth and success of any business and we’re hearing with increasing frequency that the limiting factor in this market is not the opportunity but the lack of experienced candidates,” Sally Wells, Managing Director points out.
“People are at the heart of this industry,” she adds, “and regardless of advancements in speech recognition technology and automation – this will never change! Recruitment and training costs can be significant, particularly when it comes to recruiting in volume, but with experienced candidates in short supply and employers’ whose own business growth is confined by a lack of suitable personnel, it’s clear the industry needs to realign it’s strategy – nurturing the next generation of talent makes sense!”
The BTEC Career Path Level One certificate, is the first step in working towards a level four qualification in Contract Centre Management ( level four being approved prior learning for a one year top up degree), and has been designed to equip candidates with the necessary skill base to competently fill both ingoing and outgoing positions. The qualifications were specifically written with the aim to support, recognise and reward the value and professionalism of the people within the industry and offer a true career path.
Bridging the gap between experienced and non-experienced candidates, Wells believes New Start recruits to be a cost effective means for employers to grow a workforce over the next 12 months:
“The flexible programme effectively helps to side-step the lengthy induction and training process usually associated with inexperienced recruits. The training gives individuals a solid platform of knowledge, which means once within the workplace the potential to excel is significantly enhanced – without presenting a drain on internal resource or budget.”
For Wells the concept is ‘win-win’: “Investment in people is critical to growth. Launching this initiative enables Teleresources to invest in both people and the industry we serve. And, while experience is important, it should never overshadow passion and that’s exactly what we look for in our New Start candidates – a passion to build a long-term career in the contact centre market.”
Wells encourages any employer looking to build on his or her existing business to give serious thought to how it is planning to grow its workforce over the next five years – and invites them to get in touch to learn what a New Start candidate could offer your business.
