Winners announced at the Welsh Contact Centre Awards

Nine Welsh contact centre employees and eleven companies have received awards acknowledging their achievements in the Welsh contact centre industry over the past year.

The following were all winners of national contact centre awards at the 16th annual awards ceremony held at Cardiff City stadium on the 21st of February:

  • Chloe Thomas of Tesco
  • Mitzi Henderson of British Gas
  • Paul Phillips of Logica
  • Gary Bunce of HSBC
  • Carolyn Lloyd of Northcliffe Media
  • James White of Everything Everywhere
  • Mark Davies of BT
  • Julie Hourihan of Lloyds Banking Group

British Gas and Tesco also picked up additional awards for Support Team of the Year and Customer Retention respectively. Other winners included Deloitte, Firstsource Solutions, ING Direct, and Admiral (EUI).

The winners were presented with their awards by David Walliams in front of crowd of 650 contact centre professionals, suppliers and supporters.

Chloe Thomas of Tesco, and winner of the Customer Service Representative award, said: “I’m overjoyed to have won this award, I strive really hard to give the best service that I can to our customers, and to be recognised for this is lovely. I think awards like this are important for the industry as it keeps the standards of business very high and competitive.”

Sandra Busby, managing director of the Welsh Contact Centre Forum, said: “Everyone who received an award should be very proud of themselves, as they have been selected as the top of their field in an industry that encompasses more than 30,000 people.”
 
“It’s vital we recognise and reward the individual and organisational talent that makes the Welsh contact centre industry the vibrant place it is. These winners are leading the high standard of customer service offered by Wales continues and thus ensuring a sustainable future for Welsh business.”
