Autoglass has been appointed as one of the official call centres for this year’s Children In Need.

On Friday 18th November Children in Need is hosting a celebrity-filled night of TV on BBC One and will be encouraging viewers to call the special donation lines.

The call centre, based at the company’s head quarters in Bedford, will be the official call centre for the Bedfordshire region and around 100 staff from across the business, including senior management, technicians and customer service staff, will be standing by to man the 50 phone lines and take an anticipated 5,000 donation calls.

Matthew Mycock, Managing Director of Autoglass, commented, “the Autoglass team is very excited to be one of the 50 call centres across the UK helping Children In Need beat the £39million raised last year. Following the great success of Comic Relief earlier this year, which was the first time Autoglass had been an official donations call centre, we were keen to help again. It is incredibly rewarding to take part in this kind of event as we are so passionate about the fantastic work that Children In Need does, but its also great fun and the buzz on the night is electric”.

David Ramsden, Chief Executive of BBC Children in Need, said, “every year we are amazed and inspired by our fantastic supporters. We know that there are children right across the UK who desperately need our help and we hope you will be a part of changing their lives.”

Louise Duffield, Head of Operations, said, “Autoglass are providing a vital role in enabling the public to donate to the BBC Children in Need Appeal, ensuring that we are able to raise vital funds to help disadvantaged children throughout the UK”

The Autoglass team will be building up to the big event throughout the day with a variety of ‘school disco’ themed celebrations and fund-raising activities. The phone lines will go live at 6.30pm and the team will continue to take donations until midnight.
