npower telesales boss joins Marketing Agency
Ant Marketing has appointed Liam Smith as strategic development director to optimise the potential within the multi-channel marketing industry.
Liam brings 24 years’ experience in utilities and sales management with npower, starting as a telecommunications apprentice and latterly as head of telesales outsourcing. With responsibility for all npower’s UK retail markets’ outsourcing, Liam has a thorough understanding of those markets and contact centre management.
Liam said: “Although it is relatively unusual to move from client to provider within the telemarketing world, my extensive experience from the client’s ‘side of the fence’ introduces an innovative perspective to Ant and enhances the services it provides. The company is due to open its third Sheffield call centre to offer clients increased scalability, whilst remaining highly responsive as a middle-tier outsource provider.”
ASC Appoints Dr. Clemens Pieper to Vice President Global Sales
Dr. Clemens Pieper will be responsible for all global sales activities including sales for ASC’s branch offices.

NextiraOne appoints Aman Khan to lead Data Centre Business in Europe
Aman Khan takes on the role with immediate effect and reports to David Winn, CEO of the NextiraOne Group. He previously worked as part of the NextiraOne German management team, leading the Data Centre business in Germany, where he was instrumental in launching a now rapidly growing business sector within the country.
“Our Data Centre Business – including the key sectors of Virtualisation, Fabric Computing and Cloud – is one of the cornerstones of our Group business strategy,” said Aman Khan. “We have a strong ecosystem of partners in place and we are delivering comprehensive solutions to our customers across Europe every day. Hazel Olivier joins Novacroft
Hazel is tasked with overseeing the work of the busy Software Delivery team, which includes Business Analysts, Project Managers, Analyst Programmers and Testers.
Hazel is committed to build on Novacroft’s previous business and departmental successes, and aims to further improve the experience of Novacroft’s clients by implementing and following best international practices in software development.
Datapoint appoints new General Manager
Gordon Young has been appointed General Manager at Datapoint for the company’s new Katalyst division, reporting into Jim Kent CEO.
Gordon explains, “I am very excited to join Datapoint and address the challenges of contact centre operations with the launch of Katalyst. Katalyst gives business executives a real-time, cohesive view of overall performance and aligns the contact centre’s processes and strategy with the objectives of the business. This ensures that managers can make decisions based upon hard facts rather than subjective data.”
ShoreTel appoints Adrian Hipkiss as the new Managing Director for EMEA
In this role, Hipkiss will be responsible for continuing ShoreTel’s growth in the region, and for bringing the many benefits of integrated IP communications to companies of all sizes throughout EMEA.
Hipkiss joins ShoreTel from Vodafone, where he held the position of Sales Director, Unified Communications. Prior to Vodafone, Adrian built a track record of success at both Avaya and Cable & Wireless where he held a variety of technology sales, and senior sales management positions.
“Over the past two decades, Adrian has shown great business leadership in the communications market,” said Peter Blackmore, ShoreTel president and CEO. “It is a testament to our commitment to the region that Adrian joins us to help shape our strategy and deliver growth throughout EMEA.”
Stellar appoints CEO to lead new Europe organisation
Michael Lumsden has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (Europe) for Stellar effective January 2012.
“The new Stellar organisation in Europe will build on the success of Stellar in the UK where we have been servicing industry leading clients from the banking, insurance, telecommunications and utilities sectors for more than ten years. The creation of a European arm signals an expanded geographic mandate for Stellar and recognises the growing market demand for pan European services,” said John Hollingsworth, Stellar’s global CEO.
Mr Lumsden will relocate from Australia where he currently holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer for Stellar. He has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles in general management, sales, strategy and client management with business process outsourcing, banking, and consumer products companies.
