Following a successful year of fundraising, employees at over-50s insurance provider, RIAS, have presented PIPS Charity with a cheque for £10,617.

PIPS Charity, which delivers a number of suicide prevention and awareness initiatives, was chosen as RIAS’s 2012 Employee Charity of the Year and colleagues have enthusiastically been raising money all year through a wealth of daring fundraising challenges.

Adventurous fundraising efforts have included running the Belfast City Marathon, firewalking, abseiling, and a zipline challenge, as well as a variety of less strenuous, but delicious cake baking sales! £1,600 alone was raised by a Casino Night and employees have also contributed to the buy-a-brick campaign, supporting PIPS Charity in obtaining its new Antrim Road offices.

“We are absolutely thrilled with RIAS’ scontribution to our charity – their employees have been truly dedicated to supporting us throughout 2012,” said Philip McTaggart, Founder at PIPS Charity

Commenting on the achievement, Peter Corfield, Managing Director at RIAS, said: “I am extremely proud of all the hard work and time that colleagues have generously put into fundraising this year. Supporting local charities has always been at the heart of the business and our colleagues have been 100% committed to hitting the £10,000 charity target – a great achievement and credit to all employees in our Belfast office.”
