Agents in Coventry have run a workshop on CV writing and interview skills for local young people.

Employees from Fusion Coventry Contact Centre have given up their time in conjunction with youth charity The Prince’s Trust. The 12-week personal development course aimed to give unemployed young people the skills and confidence to find a job.

This was the latest in a series of workshops to be offered by Fusion, as part of BGL’s long-term strategy to help reduce poverty and create prosperity at home and overseas.

“Our employees jumped at the chance to volunteer with The Prince’s Trust,” said Linda Tomlinson, Head of Site at Fusion Coventry. “The day went really well with lots of positive feedback and outcomes on both sides, not to mention some great interview practice to help them stand out in the crowded job market.”

“In recent years we have seen three in four young people go into employment, training or education within three months of completing the programme,” said Matt McBryde, Head of Volunteers for the Central Region of The Prince’s Trust. “This goes to show how life-changing the support of local businesses such as Fusion can be and, of course, we are extremely grateful to the volunteers for sparing their time and sharing their expertise.”
