Contact centres across the country got involved in Comic Relief this year. Here are some of their photos.

HomeServe

HomeServe’s call centre volunteers collected a donation pot of £104,785 for the Red Nose Day.

More than 250 call takers staffed phones until the early hours and took more than 3,500 calls for the charity appeal.

Call takers were treated to visit from the Mayor and Mayoress of Walsall, as well as a host of events and activities.

“For the 11th year, HomeServe was incredibly proud to play its part,” said Martin Bennett at HomeServe. “It is amazing how the UK rallies behind causes that can truly make an impact – and Red Nose Day is certainly a cause that has the power to improve the lives of so many people in the UK and across Africa.”

Neopost

Neopost did a “red” themed dress-down day – taking donations of £1 per agent.

They also brought in a Face Painter – asking for a £2.50 donation.

Chaucer Direct

Chaucer Direct acted as an official call centre – with 120 volunteers from the motor insurance company taking calls from the general public on the night of the big televised fundraising event.

“One gentleman I spoke to was so moved by a clip on the programme he couldn’t read the number on his card for his tears,” said Clare Randall. “And my last call was an elderly lady who donated £1,000! I had to ask her 3 times just to be sure!”

Dominic King broadcast the whole of his Drivetime show on BBC Radio Kent from Chaucer’s Whitstable offices to add to the excitement.

CPM

Between 6.30pm and midnight, around 65 employees, friends and family members took donations from viewers calling in at the Thame-based contact centre CPM.

“Colleagues from around the whole business gave up their time to support Red Nose Day,” said Karen Jackson, Managing Director. “The money raised for Red Nose Day is spent by Comic Relief to transform the lives of millions of people, both at home in the UK and across Africa, and we are delighted to have been able to support this fantastic and worthwhile event.”

As well as staffing the phone lines, volunteers threw themselves into a range of fundraising activities, raising over £2,500.
