Agents in Sunderland dressed in 1913’s clothing to volunteer at an agriculture festival.

Ten customer service advisors from EDF Energy’s Doxford International Business Park in Sunderland joined the 50-strong team in traditional 1913 dress at the annual Beamish Agricultural Show.

The Beamish Agricultural show, which is themed in the style of pre-war agricultural events, celebrates the end of the harvesting season and a month of agricultural celebration, including a farmers’ market, a traditional beer tent, animals, games and children’s entertainment.

“This was a great opportunity to be involved in something different and to help out one of the region’s best attractions,” said Marc Lofthouse, a volunteer who organised for his team to visit the attraction. “Beamish is a great place to learn about the history and culture of the North East, so we were enthusiastic to support the annual agricultural fayre they host.”

“The EDF Energy Helping Hands team really got in the spirit by wearing traditional dress and weren’t shy to help out with anything we asked of them throughout the day. They were a great help and without volunteers, we couldn’t deliver such a great celebration event every year,” said Samantha Mason from the team at Beamish that organised the agricultural show.
