The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles. Standing at 1,344 metres above sea level, it is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Scottish Highlands, close to the town of Fort William. Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England at 978 metres. It is located in Lake District National Park, in Cumbria. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, at an altitude of 1,085 metres above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles outside Scotland. It is located in Snowdonia National Park. “It was an incredibly challenging event both physically and mentally,” said Rob Ball, General Manager SMS Manufacturing at Gi Group. “To complete all three peaks in just 22hrs and 40mins was real a bonus but we are probably most proud of the amount of money we have raised for Help For Heroes, which currently stands at £1,385. We wish to thank everyone who has donated and also for the fantastic good luck messages we received en route.” Author: Megan Jones Published On: 17th Sep 2014 - Last modified: 22nd Mar 2017 Read more about - Archived Content Contact Centre Reports, Surveys and White Papers Get the latest exciting call centre reports, specialist whitepapers and interesting case-studies.
