A survey has revealed the songs that the public find most annoying. How does your on-hold music compare?
Face for Business, a telephone answering service, has recently conducted a One Poll survey of 2,000 people in order to find out what the British public considers to be the worst on-hold music of all time.
The 25 most annoying songs to hear on-hold are:
- You’re Beautiful – James Blunt
- Baby – Justin Bieber
- Gangnam Style – Psy
- Symphony no: 40 – Mozart
- Greensleeves
- Bad Day – Daniel Powter
- Telephone – Lady Gaga
- Bleeding Love – Leona Lewis
- Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepson
- I Dreamed a Dream – Susan Boyle
- Livin’ La Vida Loca – Ricky Martin
- Fight For This Love – Cheryl Cole
- Macarena – Los Del Rio
- My Humps – Black Eyed Peas
- You Are Not Alone – Michael Jackson
- Believe – Cher
- Lifted – Lighthouse Family
- Diamonds – Rihanna
- That’s Not My Name – The Ting Tings
- Yellow Submarine –The Beatles
- Pure & Simple – Hear-Say
- Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astley
- Kiss Kiss – Holly Valance
- One Night in Heaven – M People
- Poker Face – Lady Gaga
The study also revealed:
- The average British customer has been put on hold three times in the last month
- Nine in ten have hung up after seven minutes of waiting
- A third of adults have hung up because of a song being repeatedly played to them down the line
‘’We know that various companies try to make their songs different from any other, but either way, Brits don’t like being put on hold and would much prefer to be called back than listen to James Blunt,” said a spokesman for Face for Business.
