Plantronics’ CS500 and Savi 700 Series have been certified by the DECT Forum.

The DECT Forum is an industry group focused on developing and improving DECT wireless technology.

The new standards provide guidelines and a compliance certification process to manufacturers for improvements to security in eight areas, including authentication, encryption, call set-up, call progress and tear down.

To obtain DECT Forum Security Certification, a product must comply with all recommendations and be submitted for independent verification at an approved test lab.

“The launch of the Certification Program allows DECT vendors to have their equipment security certified against the latest standard, allowing them to assure their customers that their communications are secure,” said Andreas Zipp, Chairman of the DECT Forum. “We’re encouraged to see our full members like Plantronics embracing the new standards and working with us to certify their products.”
