IP Integration has become part of the G-Cloud 8 framework via its cloud-based two-factor authentication solution, Ascend ID, which will enable the company to supply the solution to the Crown Commercial Service and other public sector organisations.

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) centrally manages the procurement of common goods and services through an integrated commercial function at the heart of government. It aims to make savings for customers in both central government and the wider public sector, achieve maximum value from every commercial relationship, and improve the quality of service delivery for common goods and services across government. Its G-Cloud Framework, launched in 2012, is an agreement between the UK Government and cloud-based services suppliers, and is designed to drive down costs by allowing public sector bodies to purchase standardised services from approved suppliers.

Ascend ID is IPI’s cloud-based 24x7x365 two-factor authentication service and single sign-on solution. It enables secure access to services from diverse end-points, including desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Public sector customers procuring Ascend ID through the G-Cloud Framework will benefit from deployment in minutes without the necessity to invest in a dedicated on-premise solution, which will result in considerable cost savings.

Lee Harrison, founder of the AscendID innovation, said: “As a specialist service provider to the public sector for over a decade, we are delighted to support the UK Government’s adoption of cloud computing via the G-Cloud Framework. This is a ringing endorsement of our Ascend ID service and will allow us to strengthen and broaden our relationship with public sector organisations.”

CCS works with over 17,000 customer organisations in the public sector to centrally connect them to a wide array of services and products that they can procure securely. It brings together policy, advice and direct buying to provide commercial services to the public sector and save money for the taxpayer. Its aim is to make savings for customers in both central government and the wider public sector, achieve maximum value from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery for common goods and services across government.

One of IP Integration’s clients, a leading government organisation with 5,000 users, has already purchased the Ascend ID solution via the G-Cloud Framework agreement and has successfully achieved its goal of reducing costs and improving service levels while also enabling its users to work securely and remotely in line with its agile working policy.
