Big-hearted colleagues from Tesco Bank recently presented the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS) with a cheque for over £32,000, which they have raised over the past year.
Tesco Bank’s Glasgow office chose the charity to be their community partner at the beginning of 2012. Their initial £20,000 target was smashed through a variety of fundraising initiatives, including raffles, dress-down days, bake sales, sky dives and bungee jumps, to name just a few.
The money raised will go towards funding memory boxes which are given to bereaved families in Glasgow and the West, to help them make precious memories that will aid the grieving process.
Linsay Bonar from SANDS said: “We at Glasgow SANDS are thrilled by the amount raised by Tesco Bank.”
David McCreadie, Managing Director of Banking at Tesco Bank, said: “I’m delighted to be able to present this cheque for over £30k to SANDS today. The charity is very close to the hearts of our colleagues in Glasgow and they have been passionate about fundraising for this very worthy cause. I’m proud of everything that they have achieved throughout the past year.”
