Zoom has introduced a standalone version of its Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist.
This allows organisations to add AI-powered call handling to their existing business phone systems without requiring Zoom Phone.
Previously available only as part of Zoom Phone, the standalone offering is designed to help organisations enhance customer call handling while continuing to use their existing communications infrastructure.
The AI-powered receptionist supports more than 10 languages and can answer calls, respond to common customer enquiries, schedule appointments, provide after-hours assistance, and route callers to the appropriate employee when needed. It also includes live transcription and intelligent call routing.
Zoom said the offering is intended for organisations looking to improve responsiveness without replacing their current phone system, making it suitable for sectors including retail, healthcare, legal services and small businesses.
Commenting on the launch, Chris Moss, General Manager of Zoom Phone, said:
“Businesses shouldn’t have to replace their phone system to benefit from AI.”
He added:
“Every inbound call is an opportunity to serve a customer or nurture a prospect. With the standalone Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist offering, organizations can quickly add an AI-powered front desk to their existing systems, helping them answer more calls, respond faster, and stay available around the clock.”
According to Zoom, the standalone solution enables organisations to adopt AI receptionist capabilities while preserving existing technology investments and avoiding large-scale communications migrations.
The company said the launch is aimed at helping businesses remain available to customers during busy periods and outside normal operating hours.
