8×8 has introduced native support and direct sales for widely used Mitel SIP desk phones.
The capability provides organisations using Mitel desk phones with a route to adopt the 8×8 platform while retaining existing hardware investments and enabling access to cloud and AI-driven communications tools.
The update extends 8×8’s enterprise voice options for organisations modernising communications systems.
Customers can continue using Mitel devices while connecting to 8×8’s unified communications and contact centre platform.
“Physical handsets continue to play an essential role for many enterprises,” said Victor Belfor, Global Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at 8×8.
“Mitel has made a tremendous investment in highly automated, cost efficient, environmentally responsible, and TAA-compliant manufacturing.
By natively supporting Mitel phones, we give our customers complete access to the 8×8 platform unlocking the power of AI, global scale, and seamless customer and employee experience.”
Support includes Mitel SIP phones such as the 6900 Series. Benefits include the ability to retain compatible devices, streamline deployment, and maintain voice quality for environments that rely on physical endpoints.
The 8×8 Platform for CX combines calling, contact centre, messaging, video, and APIs within a single environment, supported by a financially backed 99.999% uptime SLA and global PSTN coverage in more than 55 countries. Retaining SIP endpoints is designed to support hybrid workplaces, shared spaces, and regulated industries.
“Mitel’s SIP phones are enterprise-grade devices that are trusted by organizations all over the world for their dependability and performance,” said Steve Loebrich, Head of Channel Sales and Distribution at Mitel.
“They are built to last and are designed to deliver secure and timely communication across a range of environments.
By working with 8×8 to offer native SIP support, we are ensuring their customers are provided with the same user-friendly experience they have come to expect from Mitel phones – today and into the future.”
Native support is available globally for select models, with options for U.S. customers to upgrade devices. Mitel recently relocated IP phone production to Germany in partnership with Gigaset, a move aimed at strengthening supply chain resilience and supporting customers in regulated markets.
