Assembled Launches New AI Data Connectors

AI with data wires

Assembled has introduced new data connectors designed to help AI agents access customer and operational data more directly from internal systems and databases.

The update adds two new connector types to the platform alongside its existing API integrations: database connectors for direct SQL access and Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors for structured access to internal tools.

The company said the connectors are intended to address a common challenge in AI-powered customer support, where critical information often sits inside billing systems, order management platforms, contract databases, or other internal tools that are difficult to integrate with AI agents.

Database connectors provide read-only SQL query access to supported platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, and Redshift.

Organisations can configure reusable queries for tasks such as checking order status, reviewing refund eligibility, or retrieving billing information, which can then be incorporated into AI workflows.

MCP connectors are designed for scenarios where AI agents need to interact with internal tools or trigger actions, such as processing refunds, checking inventory, or calling internal risk-scoring services.

Assembled said organisations already using MCP servers can integrate those systems directly into the platform without rebuilding integrations.

According to Assembled, the connectors are designed to improve response quality by retrieving only the specific data required for each interaction, rather than processing large API responses containing unnecessary information.

“These data connectors are built around a different principle: they skip the inference layer entirely and pull in only what the AI agent needs, exactly when it needs it,” the company said.

The company added that reducing unnecessary data retrieval can help improve response speed and accuracy, particularly for interactions involving billing information, eligibility checks, account status, or other operational data where precision is important.

“For data that has to be right (billing amounts, account status, eligibility rules), that precision isn’t just a latency win. It’s a trust one,” Assembled said.
