Edwina Hart, Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science, has officially opened the new Firstsource contact centre at Discovery House, Cardiff Bay.

Welcoming the company’s expansion into Cardiff, the Minister said: “I am delighted that Firstsource chose Cardiff as their preferred location to expand their very successful UK-based operations. Wales has gained an excellent reputation as the location of choice for contact centres based on the availability of a high quality trained workforce. I am confident Firstsource  will be able to develop its business successfully here and wish them every success.”

Rajesh Subramanian, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Firstsource, welcomed the Minister and her team to the contact centre and commented: “We are delighted to open our new facility, which is Firstsource’s first contact centre in Wales. We are well established in the UK, providing services to telecommunications and financial services companies from our centres in the north of England and Northern Ireland, and this new centre significantly expands our capabilities to serve our UK clients. We have been impressed by the calibre and skills of the people that we have employed here and I am sure that there are great opportunities here for us in the city of Cardiff.”

Bob Dunn, Director, Customer Group Operations, Sky, commented: “This new centre in Cardiff is another milestone in our longstanding relationship with Firstsource, which continues to provide excellent service  and support to our customers. We have an excellent relationship with Firstsource  that has developed over more than 10 years and we look forward to a continued and successful partnership together.”

The new Firstsource centre is a 600-seat contact centre at Discovery House, Scott Harbour Cardiff Bay, which will provide services to Sky TV.
