Plantronics wins Impact on Organisation and Workplace Award
Plantronics has been presented with the ‘Impact on Organisation and Workplace’ award at the annual British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Awards.

George Coffin
Plantronics won the award for its ‘Simply Smarter Office’ established at its UK headquarters in Royal Wootton Bassett, a project that involved consolidating all departments from three buildings into one. Plantronics developed this innovative office environment with a series of different working spaces – titled Communicate, Collaborate, Concentrate and Contemplate – all designed to support a range of working styles and activities.
“It’s a great honour for us to be recognised not only for our commitment to enabling smarter working for our staff, but also the efforts we’ve gone to in workplace design,” said George Coffin MBE, EMEA Facilities Manager. “Our aspiration was to create a more effective working environment in which staff were more productive.”
“Excellent turnaround of previously ordinary buildings into new space directly aligned to corporate culture,” said Lead Judge, Keith Shields at BIFM. “Real measures that show this to have worked and to be supporting creativity and staff well-being and productivity.”
NICE receives the 2012 LT-Innovate Award
NICE Systems announced that it is the recipient of the 2012 LT-Innovate Award for ingenuity in language technology (LT).
They are currently developing a multilingual semantic inference platform – the first of its kind – that can recognise linguistic patterns across words and phrases and categorise them accordingly.
The platform marks a new generation of text analytics capabilities for examining customer interactions. This technology will enable businesses to analyse and make sense of customer statements across languages and channels, such as speech, email, and social media. Based on these new insights, businesses can then improve contact centre performance and service levels, and enhance the customer experience.
“Receiving the LT-Innovate Award is a testament to NICE’s capabilities of its state-of-the-art language analytics technology,” said Yochai Rozenblat, President of the NICE Enterprise Group.
Philippe Wacker, Secretary General of LT-Innovate, said, “NICE stands out as an innovator in the LT field. We were particularly impressed with its multilingual interaction analytics platform, as this is exactly the type of technology that is needed to break down language barriers across Europe and make content accessible to all.”

Independent auditors for the CCA carried out an assessment of Sitel’s contact centres. Performance was evaluated in several categories: measuring innovation, enterprise, professional standards, social responsibility, training and customer satisfaction.

Lawrence Fenley
Rob Pike, Chair of the CCA Standards Council, said: “We are delighted to announce that Sitel has met the CCA Global Standard. This honour is a clear recognition of the commitment and drive demonstrated by Sitel in working towards improving standards and customer experience across the organisation.”
